BOOK REPORT EXAMPLE


Read the story given by your teacher. Answer the questions with the help of the prompts:
1. Who are the main characters in the story? Describe them.

- One of them is the Leopard, a beautiful and carnivorus animal, with yellow fur and dark spots.
- Another character is Saied, he is a young and quiet man, he has nice eyes and a kind face.

2. Who is your favorite character? Why?

- My favorite character is Saied, because he is a nice young man, he seeks to preserve the existences of animals.

3. Where and when does the story take place?

- The story takes place in and old lighthouse located in Sindi an island in the east of Africa. In the XX century.

4. What is the main problem/situation in the story? What is the end?

- Give death to the Leopard, because it presented a risk to the people of the island of Sindi.

- That the Lepard was captured and sent to a zoology, also Tanza and Saied werw married and had 3 babies and vivier happy forever.

5. Do you like the story? 

- Yes, I Iike the story because recounts the difficulties that animals have to go through in order to survive in the world of men.

6. What is the moral?

Respect the life of the animals, since they have the right to their own survival.

HOW TO SAY THE DIFFERENT HOURS IN ENGLISH



To ask the time in English the expression used is What time is it?. 

Ø When the time is right we use "o'clock" at the end:

§  It’s seven o’clock.
§  It’s nine o’clock.

Ø For the rooms we use "a quarter", "to" or "past":


§  It’s a quarter past four.
§  It’s a quarter to eleven.
§  It’s twenty-five past five.
§  It’s twenty to ten.

Ø When 30 minutes pass of the hour we say "half past" and the time:

§  It’s half past one.
§  It’s half past three.

It’s a quarter to six
It's twenty-einght one

It’s half past nine
It’s a quarter past three

It’s six o’clock

It's five to seven

It's six fifty-five

Roció: Hello Adriana.

Adriana: Hi, Roció. How are you?

Roció: I m Fine, thank you.

Adriana: Do you know Dora and Andrés?

Roció: No, I dont know them.

     Hello Dora, my name is Roció.

     Hello Andres, my name is Roció.

Dora: Hello Roció, nice to meet you.

Andrés: Hello Roció, nice to meet you.

Adriana: Dora is a nurse and she Works at the Tolima Clinic                  and Roció Works at the law branch.

Dora: Roció, Are you a lawyer?

Roció: No, I'm not a lawyer, because I am student law wistin.

Adriana: Is Andres a student?

Andrés: Yes, I am a student of law at the UCC.
               
                Where are you from?

Roció: I am from Ibagué.

Adriana: I am from Bogotá, but I live in Ibagué Mery years old.

Dora: I am from Ortega, but now I live in Ibagué.

Roció: Goodbye, see you next week.

Adriana: Goodbye, boys.

Dora: Goodbye.

Andres: Goodbye.
