To ask
the time in English the expression used is What time is it?.
Ø When the time is right we use "o'clock" at the end:
§ It’s seven o’clock.
§ It’s nine o’clock.
Ø For the rooms we use "a quarter", "to" or
"past":
§ It’s a quarter past four.
§ It’s a quarter to eleven.
§ It’s twenty-five past five.
§ It’s twenty to ten.
Ø When 30 minutes pass of the hour we say "half past" and the
time:
§ It’s half past one.
§ It’s half past three.
